Purchases carry amount and currency, converted to the integer minor units OpenAI expects, including zero-decimal currencies.
Linkrunner records the campaign, ad group and ad macros on every click, so one link reports per ad.
Every event carries a deterministic deduplication ID. Events older than 7 days are skipped and logged so they can't fail a batch.
The same campaign link carries a deferred deep link, with per-ad values from landing page query parameters.
Validate sends a synthetic event with OpenAI's validate_only flag, so you can test credentials without recording a conversion.
In ChatGPT Ads Manager, open Tools, Conversions. Copy a web data source's Pixel ID and create a Conversions API key.
Paste both under Integrations, ChatGPT Ads, Pixel Management, click Validate and save, as you would for Reddit Ads.
Create a Linkrunner campaign with ChatGPT Ads as the ad channel and copy the link for your web-to-app journey.
Use the Conversions objective, paste the link as the Default Ad Destination URL and add the tracking macros as landing page query parameters.
ChatGPT app attribution is click-through only. An install without oppref can't be matched to a ChatGPT ad.
Use the Conversions API key from Tools, Conversions, not the Ads API key from Settings.
OpenAI's Conversions API accepts the Android advertising ID but not IDFA. On iOS, matching relies on oppref plus any hashed identifiers your app provides.
Conversions usually appear in Ads Manager 24 to 48 hours after Linkrunner sends them.
Configure the campaign link and conversion mapping, then check a test journey and its postback delivery.
